We are currently serving Pizza and Beer every Thursday evening 5:00 – 9:00 p.m.

Breakfast and an afternoon snack are always available for our Inn guests. Lunch and dinner are also available by pre-arrangement. Make meal reservations when you book your room.

Additionally, we enjoy providing that special meal for family and business functions – birthdays, anniversaries, holidays and other occasions. In addition to our food we serve beer, wine and a selected assortment of spirits. Please contact Alline at 660-883-5522 to schedule your event.

About the Milkweed Mercantile Organic Café

We're serving up fresh, local food prepared simply and deliciously. We welcome omnivores, vegetarians and vegans. All will find food they can enjoy and celebrate.

We are proud to serve Peace Coffee and SerendipiTea; both are Fair Trade Certified and Organic. We serve a variety of beers, most of which are local Midwest beers or crafted in sustainability-minded breweries. We also serve Midwest and organic wines.

We craft our own pickles, jams and preserves. All bread (including focaccia, tortillas and pizza dough) and desserts are baked here in our kitchen using organic Midwest grains. All chocolate desserts are made with Organic, Fair Trade chocolate.

In the spring and summer we have an open door agreement with local organic gardeners and farmers – we accept any fresh produce they bring to us and either serve it fresh or preserve it for future use.

What we don’t make ourselves we procure from the finest organic producers, primarily in the Midwest. All meat and eggs served come from animals which have been humanely raised on pastured, organic farms. We strongly support small local farmers who utilize sustainable farming practices.
